I founded nonbcm7 certified™ as a result of a personal experience. I have always been a diehard milk drinker and loved anything dairy. However, my daughter was having some health issues and was told to go dairy free, among other things. It got me questioning why dairy might be a problem given all the positive nutritional benefits. So my research began and it turns out there was much discussion around A2 Milk so I kept digging further. After awhile my past education kicked in and what I was finding was making so much sense, there are many alternatives to "just dairy" and I think consumers have so many choices in "milk" products that it is overwhelming. I created nonbcm7 certified™ as a way to share and educate people to be able to make informed decisions for themselves.
Going dairy free or lactose free might seem like the easy answer but there are so many natural benefits from milk; what is A2? It's actually bigger than that, not only cows milk but other breeds provide the same benefit like A2 milk and don't cause the underlying BCM-7 reaction.
I have Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science with a minor in Dairy. I have also spent much of my career in the corporate world managing technology projects for Fortune 500 companies. My background and experience provide me a unique view on this topic and in addition to educationing consumers we are building and maintaining a database of producers that have genetically tested and verified their cows produce only A2 protein milk. The result being the ability for milk and other dairy products to be sold using the nonbcm7 certified™ seal making it easier for consumers wanting this option to know it meets a high standard. Our database and certification for other breeds will also carry the same nonbcm7 certified™ seal but there is no need for genetic testing as they naturally produce only A2 proteins in their milk.
